A heartfelt Lounge "Happy Birthday" to William Shakespeare.

Baptised on April 26th, 1564, he is presumed to have been born three days earlier.

Thank you to the Bard, for, among other accomplishments, becoming one of the leading political commentators of our time; Will offers his weekly Thought For The Day right here in the Lounge, for which we are grateful.

His burial is recorded in Stratford's Trinity Church as having taken place on the 25th of April. It was customary at the time to bury the dead two days after death. So the presumption is, (helped along by the fact that his birthday is assumed to have been on the 23rd as well, the Feast Day of St. George, patron saint of England) that he died on the 23rd.
