Do you like the rush of heat and adrenaline when you jump into the fray? Do you marvel at how you cannot control your emotions? Do you like being enraged about anything and everything? Would your epitaph read "the glass is always half empty"? Do you believe that all in all you are the light of reason and knowledge in an otherwise obtuse and mediocre world. Do you hate it when your friends become successful? Do you have enemies? Do rake the thoughts, opinions, ideas and beliefs of others with a fine tooth comb looking for nits to pit your wits with? Do you think all of this will always be here? Do you think you can take any of this with you? Why are you here at all?

(5,937 posts)I was just sitting at my desk browsing GD. I do this a few times in the evening when I have time to sit, I have a new baby. When I can snatch some time at work I check it out. The one thing that always gets me is how some of the posters appear to just be mad, irate, pissed off all the time. I am not like that but I am curious how some people can stand to be that way. I wonder what their lives are like. Do they feel fulfilled? By the number of posts of some GD regulars, and the more "angry" of the bunch they would have to be in GD from the time they wake to the time they go to bed it seems. I do not know anyone like that personally.

(28,552 posts).. that the net is a more no-consequence outlet for these emotions than real life? Something for you to consider.
And to be fair, there is more to be pissed off about right now than since say, 1965.

(5,604 posts)Sometimes. A little bit. No. Possibly. Yep, pretty much. No, not at all. Who doesn't. I don't think so, (but I'm replying to a sentence fragment; so I'm not 100%). Of course not. Hell no. I had no choice in the matter.
Anything else?

(21,020 posts)I'm pissed off a lot, but I really don't like it.
As someone with anxiety disorders, I already have more than enough adrenaline and shit racing through my system on a daily basis and don't need any more.
That's not to say it doesn't happen...I just don't like it.
As far as unending/persistent anger and pissed-offness itself, I would say that many times it's probably an easier emotion for people to deal with than some other things, like fear or sadness/grief.
