Onions on pizza go in the oven raw and they come out raw.

You've got to caramelize them, minimally saute them, before you put them on the pizza...and it's a step too many for most pizza places. So you order onions and you get raw onion.

Raw onions are terrible on pizza! We have a Pizza Uno nearby and my friend likes one of their standard offerings, minus the onions. But every time we've ordered takeout, even though I've been very specific, they still include the layer of onions and they're pretty much raw.

When my wife and I go out for a pizza the server knows that we want anchovies on half the pizza, but I want all that they would have put on the whole pizza. Basically, it becomes ½ with double anchovy, in addition to whatever else we got on it.

Another favorite is Candian bacon, thin-sliced tomatoes, and black olives. With anchovy.

Garlic, Artichoke hearts, mushrooms, and (if fresh) shrimp). They thought it was a great idea, and asked what it was called back in the States. I had no name, so I called it "Pizza Boston," and that's what they called it. Then I got my heart problems and had to strike cheese (and thus pizza) from my menu--a sad day that was, indeed. I have now had less than the equivalent of two full pizzas in the last ten years.

I will say, however, that I have enjoyed EVERY bite!
