I just saw a trailer for Expendables III, and was wondering why George Clooney would want to be in a movie like this. Turns out Antonio Banderas now looks like he could be his twin.
Samuel L. Jackson looks so much like Laurence Fishburne, that when I first watched the original Matrix, I went the entire movie thinking it was him. I know this past February he blasted a news reporter for confusing them, but he really should have let it go, because they look exactly alike.
Agree, disagree? Any others?

(4,851 posts)I think Sam Jackson and Laurence Fishburne look completely different. Other than both being bald black males in some roles, they have completely different facial structures. I never confused them in any roles.
I have not seen the Antonia Banderas film you mentioned, nor have I seen one of his films in years, so I can't speak to that. But if he does look like Clooney, my wife will be upset. She had a huge crush on Banderas for years, but always dislike Clooney's looks.
I see a slight resemblance with a young Jonnie Depp and Orlando Bloom, and also a young Redford and a young Brad Pitt, but not all that much.
I see it alot in Alan Cumming and Paul (Pee Wee Herman) Reubens. I think they have a very similar facial structure. But I think the two who looked the most alike for a brief period was
Keira Knightley and Natalie Portman during the time that the Star Wars Phantom Menace was shot. They were made up to look alike, but at that time they had similar faces, weights and hair. They have aged differently now, but at that time it was close.

(2,188 posts)Not much, but he looked a little like him in Tombstone. Maybe even a tad like Leonardo DiCaprio.
I know I'm not totally crazy on the previously mentioned actors, because if you search for "Samuel L. Jackson looks like" the first thing that comes up is Laurence Fishburne. I dunno, I always saw it. Especially in The Matrix. Same thing in search results for "Antonio Banderas looks like".

(12,723 posts)30 years ago when either Mr. Fishburne or Mr. Jackson was in every other movie being made it took me a while to know who was who.
When I was younger I got Al Pacino and Dustin Hoffman mixed up for a while and they too do not look or act a thing alike. Although I imagine Pacino could have played Ratso Rizzo.

(14,400 posts)It's actually Matt Damon and Jessie Plemons from Breaking Bad but when I first saw him in an episode I did a double take.

(11,936 posts)But I've always thought there was a similar look among celebrities from Boston or near Boston... not look alikes persay, but maybe like relatives. I'm talking about Matt Damon, John Cena, Mark and Donnie Wahlberg, etc.

(11,936 posts)I just don't see it though. Fishburne is a larger man, lighter skinned and has a completely different face.

(63,199 posts)Samuel Jackson looks just like Laurence Fishburne, except for his physique, the shape of his face, and his skin color.

(8,217 posts)I just don't see it, though I definitely see your point in regards to celebrities looking the same.
Although, yeah, in some ways, it is best to just let these things go.
The ones I think that look the same are:
Jeffrey Dean Morgan :: Javier Bardem
Keira Knightley :: Katie McGrath (Curvier version) -- In Phantom Menace, Keira Knightley was one of the decoys of Natalie Portman
Sometimes I mistake Zac Efron and Logan Lehrman.

(19,831 posts)They all look and act the same to me. Stand them up together and I have a better shot at telling the the difference but only one or two in a scene and fuggedaboutit.
As for Fishburne and Jackson, well...

(31,381 posts)Elias Koteas and Christopher Meloni. Their voices even have a similar sound.
Koteas is in Chicago PD and I kept thinking, why didn't I know Meloni was in a new series?
I thought Meloni was in 'Windtalkers' until I saw the credits.
