(21,020 posts)unnatural "sheen" to the hair. No variance of color like with real hair. Funny looking hairline. The way it falls and moves. Or doesn't move.
All those are applicable to acrylic wigs.
Real human hair wigs are harder for me to tell.
And 3/4 "falls" are hard for me to tell also. those are the ones that sit back on the head and are covered at the joining line by the person's own hair.
I have a number of clip-on pieces that I hope aren't terribly obvious

(2,682 posts)the part in the hair. If it's a wig, you can't see scalp at the part. If it's natural, you can see scalp at the part, even with the fullest of hair.
