Strange and Easy Way to Get Exercize..Very simple.

Strange Way to get Exercise ....It is very simple..
Put the phone in a room away from the computer

When the phone rings, you got to get up and walk some distance to get the phone. Say 15 or 20 feet. So my phone which was next to the computer, broke down about a year and a half ago. So, I said to me, why don't you wait a while to get the newest and most advanced phone.. So, I need to go to a "phone store" with lots of them.

In the meanwhile, the phone rings, and I got to get up from the chair and walk and pick it up, cause it is ringing. The other phone is in another room.. about 20 feet away...So.. Since March of 2013, I estimate that I have gotten up from the computer, and walked to the phone, about 2000 times. Sometimes I sit and talk, then get up and go back to the computer... Getting up from the computer a few times a day ain't a bad idea. Never did get another phone...Hell...at least it is a simple idea.!!!

7. That is 4 and half calls a day for 450 days.

About half of them are people selling something.

.Stuff like security systems, home health plans etc. Now, most of the time I resent that crap, but sometimes when I have been at the computer a long time, it is a good idea to get up away from it for a while. (no matter who calls) Then do something else, perhaps call someone just to say hello. In the very very old days..I would be at the library, looking at this or that, sometimes walking around and after some years the library got VHS tapes, yes, old movies, and I would look at this one and that one. But you can get almost all that info by sitting at the screen for hours on end. News, sales, what to buy, price of cars, order food, medical info, history, Democratic Underground..you tube....etc, etc, etc. (as the King of Siam used to say)..

I don't think it is a very healthy thing to do for hours at a time.., but many of us do it.

and move your feet. It will help your back as well as your circulation.

Or does that only work for short people?

When you have Comcast the phone number and whatever name is connected to it come on at the bottom of the screen. It takes couch potatoism to a whole new level.

10. An idea about "couch potatoism..."

The ultimate couch potato tool is what we used to call ....station changer, or "remote."

There are people who have never... yes, never had to get up to change the station on the TV...I remember changing stations with a knob...Today's remote can do anything you want..well, not anything..but almost anything..

to change among 3 stations. You could always tell the pecking order in the family.

I remember having to use pliers to change the channel too. And don't even get me started on who had to hold the rabbit ears or stand just so to keep the snow down or constantly adjust the vertical lines. It was a full family activity at times.

I still remember the first TVs and when the first color tvs came out.

Jeez. I don't feel that old...

16. So do I, but the display on my desk phone is too small and dark to make out

So I have to run to the bedroom phone to read the caller ID (I only answers calls from people I know. If there's a legit call from someone else, I can always do a callback on their message.)

Why don't I get a better desk phone that I can read? It has a corded handset, so it's more private--it can't be eavesdropped on by someone with a baby monitor or cordless headphones like a cordless handset phone can be.

And the exercise, as little as it is, is a plus.

Your lower back will thank you for it, because the muscles in your front will help hold you up!
