Anybody else up? Busy night on call after a horrendously busy day in clinic.

I can't be-lieve how many med refills I've had to do just since 6 this evening. It's as if everyone forgot that it was going to be a three-day weekend, and just put off getting their meds refilled until all the clinics closed...

Anyway, at 8am tomorrow morning, I can start my weekend.

How are the Lounge night-owls doing tonight?

I'm doing OK...

Started PT again for my left shoulder and its newest repair.

It went well. I have a new guy doing the work with me, and we are getting along well. Mutual respect and all that.

Good to see you!

I really am glad for the PT. My shoulder still needs work, and this will be that work.

My PT guy gave me some simple exercises to do at home, and I will be doing them every day...

I hope I can sleep. Sometimes my head refuses to let go of the day, and my thoughts keep me awake.

Thanks for asking, my dear lovemydog!

Then I bought online tickets to see Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers and Steve Winwood.

Never was crazy about Tom Petty, although I recognize he's talented. Turned off the radio when I heard "Freefallin'". Some of his songs are much better than that.

Have always dug Steve Winwood. Ever since "Gimme Some Lovin" and "I'm a Man" with the Spencer Davis Group way back in '64. He's the master of the cheesy rock organ. Great musician & nice guy.

Posted some Wes Montgomery for the Lounge to chill by.

Wes was cool!

I've been following Pat since he was a pup in the 70s (Got some of his early vinyls on the ECM label) and he's continued the tradition. Clean guitar is not fashionable these days. Too much distortion shreds the music.

In college we listened to "The Low Spark of High Heeled Boys" Traffic album and Blind Faith. Love "Can't find my way home".

I was thinking about seeing Jeff Beck/ZZ Top but Dusty Hill fell down and hurt his hip and the tour is now postponed.

chores around the apartment, going to my dad's so he can work on my car and then one day of absolutely nothing. i may even have enough in the piggy bank for a six pack.

cooking is one of my favorite things in terms of relaxation. i fuss around on the internet, my husband and i play dice with buddies and texas hold em on our phones together and i hang out with the cats. i'm also rewatching star trek voyager (i just finished tng and ds9 was before that).

it never dawned on me that there would be simpsons comic books, but that makes perfect sense. enjoy them!

I enjoy playing solitaire online. Also gonna watch another tv show (just finished watching first part of the series Ancient Aliens from the History Channel) called Archer. It looks like it's right up my alley - crazy funny animated comedy, sort of based on James Bond but more of a parody. Will try and take a long walk too. Enjoy your weekend.

I've been twisting in the wind for a week and half about a job that sounded like a done deal a week and half ago, with a start date on Sept. 2nd... But now I've been told that they'll get back to me on Wednesday. After being unemployed for such a long time, I was super eager to get going at this really good job... now I'm starting to get paranoid about it. I'm hoping the delay is just because of the long weekend.

Thanks for asking. I stayed home tonight, treating myself to watching the first dvd of Ancient Aliens, a show on the History Channel a few years ago. It's kind of fun imagining all those ancient civilizations, and how much they knew about the stars. And hearing people theorize about how some of their amazing structures may have been built.

How are you doing now? Is it hard to unwind after such a busy day at the clinic? I hope you're relaxing now.

I guess people are starting to go to bed now. I'm hoping for no 2am calls this time.

After a busy day of clinic, when I don't have call afterward, I come home, do an hour of cardio, some weight-lifting, take a hot shower, and then kind of melt into bed. Last night, I was just about as tired after all that as I can remember being...
