17. The 3rd Army was my parent unit in the Gulf.

Right before the ground war started, USAREUR sent one combat platoon from every battalion in Germany to the Gulf to serve as a strategic replacement reserve in the event of mass casualties. So that's my Gulf story.

I was a Combat Medical Specialist attached to the 1/77 Armored battalion, 4th ID (mech) at Fort Carson, Co. Back in the mid '80's. And I can still do 50 pushups. HOOAH!
