People I know are getting more aggressive in their behavior, comments etc. in their dislike for President Obama.

about Koko when she was younger, learning sign language. She knew the difference between humans and animals. Some animals were good and some were 'bad animals'. and when she asked for a kitten for a pet. Always wondered how she got on later on. Thanks for the link.

A must read book about his work with research chimps and ASL. I saw a documentary where he visited a research chimp who he had taught ASL to something like 15 years prior. The chimp was STILL in a cage being used for research. When Roger walked in the chimp recognized him immediately and signed his name. They conversed like they had just seen each other last week.

After reading this book I became a vocal and active supporter of getting animals, especially primates, out of medical research.

Thank you KamaAina (and Washoe) for this lovely tale.
