My friends in the DU Lounge:

I'd appreciate it if you'd consider reading and kicking and recommending this thread that I posted in GD. It's about a United Nations study that was released today, the most comprehensive one ever on the horrible subject of sexual abuse. I'm sorry in advance for bringing it to the normally fun times lounge. But I just think that this is the most important subject in the news today, and I don't quite understand why it isn't getting more attention there yet.

I'd like more people to see it. Thank you very much. Hope you all enjoy a great evening, day, morning, etc.

I saw Fleetwood Mac at the Hollywood Bowl a few years ago. Warm summer evening. When they played Rhiannon my girlfriend & I held hands. It's such a beautiful memory!

Fleetwood Mac and Stevie Nicks, especially, have long been favorites of mine. Back in the late '70s, my brother and I had tickets to see them (their heyday!!!), but I had a summer job at a local amusement park which lasted till 6pm and the concert started at 8, and my brother refused to wait for me, went with my mother instead! I have never forgotten that.

Thank goodness for youtube. So much great Fleetwood Mac stuff on there. I missed the Replacements in NYC because I was sick. I missed The Smiths in NYC because I wasn't as into them as my friends at the time. But I've seen some great shows. I bet you have too!

I had tickets to see Joni Mitchell at about the same time (SPAC - Saratoga Performing Arts Center, Saratoga Springs, NY), but she cancelled at the last minute and never rescheduled.

However, my brother did kind of make it up to me. He went to college at the University of Vermont and while he was there (1980, I think), Bruce Springsteen gave a concert there! It was incredible and my brother took me!

It was a double bill - Arlo Guthrie, followed by Judy Collins! They really don't have concerts like that anymore!

I was feeling a bit down that the thread was sinking. I'm so glad I reached out to my buds here and there too!
