(4,299 posts)anyway, does brass rust?
In_The_Wind
(72,300 posts)Brass gets discoloration spots.
My antique brass bed would be worth $5,000 if it didn't have spots. I'm going to sell it as is.
antiquie
(4,299 posts)That wasn't what I had in mind.
I have a tapestry panel that would be worth a few -- except for a tear that knocks it way down. Your bed luck will be better.

I could use some good bed luck about now.
I'll miss it though. Sigh. Lots of great memories. It's still beautiful.

(16,950 posts)I'm trying to get ahold of that movie now and can't find it on Netflix or the local video stores we go to. Bummer. Something that we saw on the teevee made us want to see it, and it's hard to find now. I barely remember it from watching it so long ago, but my SO said he never saw it, so we're hunting for it now.
edit: It was a July 4th special that had that song and a bit of the movie playing and made us start looking for it.

(16,950 posts)What's weird is that I'm kind of surprised he wants to even see this movie as he doesn't really like musicals, but he was really interested in it after seeing the 4th of July show, so I'll keep looking for it.
Thanks pinboy3niner.

(16,950 posts)It's such a classic with those old Hollywood styles. Really nice. I was glad to see your post which reminded me about the movie. It was worth the search.

The tromboon was developed by Peter Schickele, a skilled bassoonist himself, and featured in some of his live concert and recorded performances. Schickele called it, "a hybrid that's the nicer word constructed from the parts of a bassoon and a trombone; it has all the disadvantages of both."
