Mine is clearly............................My Name is Mr. ED.......
a ridiculous show about a talking horse, and the one person that can talk to him....a take off of Francis the talking mule movies of the 40s and 50s.........(with Donald O Connor of all actors)

(32,080 posts)Same order, as well. It's been fun watching them from the perspective of an adult, and in my case, someone with a couple of biology degrees. Especially "Flipper." A lot of the underwater clips are from places like the South Pacific/Hawaii, and much of the terrestrial wildlife definitely isn't from the Florida Keys. Macaws? I know south Florida is full of introduced species, but I don't recall macaws being one of them. Sea snakes? And, where are all those limestone caves Bud always got trapped in? Not in the Keys. That kid was a dope.
As for Mr. Ed, I would love some of what those writers were smoking...
Speaking of "Flipper," I just saw the first episode today. Hilarious! The boys called Porter "Pa" instead of the usual "Dad." LOL!

(12,132 posts)but I wasn't sure if it fit the criteria, time-wise. Either way, I loved that show! I rarely got to watch it though as we usually had to go to church when it was on.

(3,600 posts)The voice of Mr. Ed was Rocky Lane and not Chill Wills. Alan Young played Wilbur Post.
And as for Peabody and Sherman, can someone tell me the answer to Sherman's question, "How can he say things like that and keep a straight face?"

Tom Ripley
(4,945 posts)the greatest sitcom starring a horse since Mr. Ed.

(4,945 posts)I also loved Tennessee Tuxedo and Goo Goo Gophers (despite the incorrectness of the latter)
BTW: Wally Cox was rumored to be a member of the "endowed like Milton Berle club"

(4,945 posts)of cartoon natural predator and prey who are pals? The question has led to many sleepless nights for me
Goo Goo Gophers were two Native American gophers who always outwitted their cavalry adversaries. However, one spoke only gibberish while the other talked like a stereotypical Hollywood Indian.
