Santa Cruz man's lengthy tongue gets him into Guinness record book

A 24-year-old Santa Cruz man is the latest addition to the Guinness World Records books with the world's longest tongue.
Nick Stoeberl's tongue measured at 3.97 inches -- roughly the size of a business card -- from the tip to the middle of the closed top lip, according to Guinness officials. Stoeberl, a comedian and artist, bested the previous record of 3.86 inches held by Stephen Taylor of Britain since 2002.
Stoeberl's father was a fan of the KISS, encouraging Stoeberl stick his tongue out to imitate Gene Simmons' iconic tongue look.
"I think one of the most useful things my tongue offers is actually not having to use napkin," Stoeberl said in an interview with Guinness officials, licking the side of his face.
"the KISS"? Now you know why I refer to the Merc as "the cat box liner".
