(17,005 posts)I love it that we're heading into Fall. My cats are happier then summer with the Florida humidity.

(33,688 posts)I popped a ligament or tendon in my ribcage and was in terrific pain. When I eventually gave up and called the ambulance they had to give me morphine just to get me off the couch. My cat at the time, who has since gone on to the Rainbow Bridge, stuck to me like glue, laying next to me, purring, licking my arm and snuggling. He knew I was hurting and did everything he could to let me know he was concerned and be comforting. He was one damn fine cat, and I miss you every day, Butch.

(17,005 posts)You definitely had a Cats Love from Butch, I know how much you must miss him, he sure was a fine cat. Maybe you'll get another one someday, you know there are many that need good homes. Thanks for telling me of your Butch.

(33,688 posts)as was his predecessor, Max. I am pretty sure Butch was a Turkish Van. He was a big moose of a cat, kinda grumpy sometimes but a great friend. I lost him after 2 1/2 years to kidney failure at age 12 or so, which is what also took Max. I can't have a cat right now but plan on adopting a couple more rescue kitties when circumstances permit. Maybe a little younger this time. Losing two very dear furfriends in the space of three years was brutal.

(17,005 posts)That will be a very lucky kitty!

(33,688 posts)They could sleep anywhere they wanted, got good wet food, treats, occasional tuna, and all the attention they wanted. I miss coming home and not hearing a welcoming meow on the other side of the door.

(17,005 posts)and I know all about those great greetings from my Cats and Dogs.
Keep spoiling, the benefits are precious and very healthy too.

(50,983 posts)He does this to be close to me. He is at my shoulder level on the turntable because it is right behind me while I'm seated at the computer. He likes to butt heads. [img][/img]
I hope you can find some new kitties soon.
The Velveteen Ocelot
(115,661 posts)one of my cats curled up against the sore knee and purred. He did this every night for about a week until the injury improved. There's research suggesting that the frequency of a cat purr actually promotes healing. I do think the cat was trying to make me feel better.

(95,337 posts)that's about it.
The Velveteen Ocelot
(115,661 posts)they hang around with me even when they aren't hungry. Whatever room I'm in, they have to be there (especially the bathroom, go figure). If I go upstairs they follow me there. If I go downstairs they follow me there. If I'm at the computer they'll sleep next to me or on the back of the couch behind me. They greet me at the door when I come home. At night they end up in bed with me (coming and going during the night because they also have some cat things to attend to). One of them likes to sleep with a paw on my arm. If their only interest in me was motivated by food they'd ignore me except at meal times, but they are more like large furry barnacles. They want to be near me just about all the time, and they let me know about it. They love me.

(33,688 posts)to believe that no human can or should use the bathroom without feline supervision. Truly, this is a mystery.

She regularly rolls on our feet, which is an incredibly endearing gesture. Melts my heart every time, no matter how often she does it.

(17,005 posts)She sounds adorable your little female tuxedo. I got three like that black and white, one male Batman and two female, Peppy and Peepers, they melt my heart too.

(23,970 posts)Always good to meet other cat people. Our little tuxedo girl is named Chessie, because of her colors. Big, gorgeous green eyes.
What is a Batman cat?

(3,275 posts)Her cat ran to find help in the house. She found my cat and the two of them made such a nuisance that my other roommate came out of her room to check on them. They brought her to the other part of the house where my roommate was lying on the floor. She called 911 and got her to the hospital. I was in class at the time.
Whenever any of us were sick or sad, those two cats were right by us purring and snuggling.

(17,005 posts)I definitely agree with you, cats are good medicine for sure and cuddly caregivers.

(17,742 posts)And throwing-up furballs at the foot of your bed too, that has to be love.
Crewleader
(17,005 posts)Your cat wants to be real close to you by sleeping on your head, and she or he is wise to let you know about the furballs for your helping hand to the situation. You got a Great Cat Duer157099.

(2,860 posts)Luckily I have Dr Taz to take care of me. If I sneeze she comes running and rubs her nose against mine. I have 5 cats and 3 big dogs. I have plenty of all of the items listed on your post going on at my place every day. One cat came with my marriage. Little Sassy just turned 19 this year. She's still feisty and likes to play. I didn't know I was a cat person until my wife got me drunk and took me to the pet store. I was adopted by Taz when she was a kitten. She shot right up my arm and perched on my shoulder. She planted her little nose in my ear and purred with all her might. I plunked her down on the counter and said add her to my bill. It was the best 45 bucks I ever spent. Taz turns 12 this year. I love feeding them all at the same time and hearing all the munching and crunching. Thanks for the post!

(17,005 posts)I feel the same way, I love animals of all kinds.
My cats give me special joy, all are strays that found me. I have those that love the outside and have a good size back yard providing them privacy and protection, and most don't wander too far. I have my cats in the house that could not tolerate the Florida heat.
So at meal time, I'm a busy lady feeding inside and outside cats. I love how they all gather for the pets on the heads and I do everyone and then I feed them. It's a joy to watch them eat has you said, hearing the munching and crunching. Oh boy, the love and affection they give back to me, makes me so happy.
Thank you for your post my friend.
