I re-read House Divided last winter (1540 pages) but have not made it thru the sequel yet. I read House Divided back in High School and am glad that I read it again as my perception of it changed over time. The first book is set during the Civil War and focuses on a southern family that finds out they have ties to Lincoln. It is really interesting I thought, as I read it, that some things have not changed.

I am an emedia (ebooks and audiobook) hoarder so I have lost of books that i have not made it through yet including Ken Follett's Century Trilogy and the Pillars of the Earth series. I also have Doris Kearns Goodwin's The Bully Pulpit, No Ordinary Time, and Team of Rivals in the wings.

I really need to just get rid of my TV if I have any hope of making a dent in my reading backlog.

I haven't read any Kurt Vonnegut.

I really need to fix that.

I keep meaning to, but never have. I keep a copy of "A Confederacy of Dunces" on hand to read when I need a really good laugh.

but that's the only Updike I've read I think. I probably should read more.

Never sat through more than 5 minutes of the movies.

To each their own; I'm not a literary snob but once I skimmed through the first one in Target I was like, so not happening.

I've got books on my Kindle and in my shelf that I haven't read, mags to catch up on (just got a thick Vanity Fair in the mail today) but have been lazy and catching up on shows.

That's bad since I lecture our son about Lord of the Flies as he's been on it for about 2 weeks and I'm all, I finished that in 3 days! He's too involved in Minecraft and Team Fortress.

Started both several times, and was interested, but put them down for long enough to have to start over.

"A Confederacy of Dunces" is very funny, but you have to have the right sense of humor. My wife would hate it.

get into it. I threw it out. Then it appeared on my pile of books to read. Don't know how it got there. And I'm not in the mood to read it.
