My green soccer ball has been identified
It's not a gourd after all.
It's a Hubbard Squash. Apparently, it will keep most of the winter. My tree guy told me keeping it out in the sun for the last week was fine -- that hardened it off.
It's down to the basement now, until February. He said they make great eating
