(95,337 posts)You know what they put in sugar free products
Suguar subsitutes like Sugar Alcohols (xylitol is a common brand)
You know what your body does with sugar alcohols - nothing - it goes in one end and out the other. For people who want sweets but on low carb diets, sugar alcohols do not count for carbs.
You know what happens when you have too much suguar alcohol in your diet.
Imagine an exploding volcano.
Now imagine that exploding volcano was transplanted to your butt.
Nuff said.
It's better to just eat the damn sugar in small quantities then to think - 'Yummy this is sugar free I'm gonna eat the entire carton'
You have been warned

(30,947 posts)of Kroger's sugar-free Peanut Butter Fudge Swirl ice cream and do not see any sugar alcohol. The only sweetener is Sucralose enzymes which is what Splenda is made up of. I eat this brand all the time and have never had any exploding volcanoes.

(95,337 posts)Where do I begin? One study found sucralose (Splenda) "exerted numerous adverse effects" including altered intestinal flora in rats. Another study's title, "Life-span exposure to low doses of aspartame beginning during prenatal life increases cancer effects in rats," speaks for itself.
Human studies show likewise. One in the journal Trends in Epidemiology and Metabolism (TEM) found "accumulating evidence suggests that frequent consumers of these sugar substitutes may also be at increased risk of excessive weight gain, metabolic syndrome, Type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease."
I actually starting reading about issues with Splenda a weight gain a few years ago and beginning of this year I have sworn off anything with artificial sweetners in it. If I need to sweeten something best to just stick with sugar or I might use Stevia. But I'm even find some Stevia out there the market is cut with artifical sweeteners or fillers. True Stevia (which is a plant so it's natural) is so highly sweet that you need very little to sweeten a product. I use Trader Joe's Stevia which looks like I'm using a cocaine spoon to add my sweetner - haha.
you speak the truth.
Any of the "tols" will do that to me.
Three hard candies with a "tol" sugar substitute and I'm spray painting the inside of my skivvies like a graffiti master decorating the side of an urban building.

this product should not be allowed out there on the market whatsoever. Too many peole think it's a proper substitute for junk food not realizing the results are 1000 times worse.

And the truth is closer to urban graffiti artist anyway.
Oh, and not only are the "tols" no good for humans, they can be somewhat toxic for pets.
Must have!
