I think I was a snob for a little while. Then I started paying attention, got over myself, and heard Jungle Land. The rest is history.

Springsteen excels at two modes of "singing."

1. Mumble mumble

2. The sound one would hear if a bull got kicked in the gonads.

Has some of the finest social commentary in music today and enough people love his singing to enable him to have considerable money and influence.

The Darkness on the Edge of Town tour.

I remember the rest of the band left and he sat at the piano and played "Rosalita". Awesome.

Also saw him in 2000.

There were too many guitars fighting for the lead: Bruce, Nils Lofgren, Todd Rundgren, Little Steven, and Bruce's wife showing up occasionally with an acoustic.

And I know his music more than they do.

I only wish I could see the Boss live. I guess local cover bands will have to do (I've seen E Street Shuffle a few times and they're pretty good). Gotta love Jersey.
