would still watch it if I was home when it was on.

Some UHF channel on our 13" B/W TV every day after school - Gilligan, Gomer Pyle, Andy Griffith, Leave it to Beaver...The little island of sanity between school and when my step-asshole got home.

Those were the days.

I watched the TV movie when they got rescued not long ago. That show's a unique classic.

Tuned in almost at the end...Some Latin American dictator is about to execute poor Gilligan...oh wait now they're talking...now Gilligan is having a dream and in it he is the Latin American dictator! And he's about to be overthrown but the rest of the castaways are his only loyal subjects! And they're being attacked by stock b&w footage of Indians on horseback! And Gilligan is a marionette being manipulated by the real dictator! But it's all a dream! The real dictator escapes by canoe and is caught! Nobody believes his story about Gilligan's Island and he is exiled to the Andes! And that's it! Wow, will they ever be rescued?
