She is apparently hosting SNL this week.
I know what I think, but I wanna know what you think. Have at it.

(20,453 posts)She is a comedic activist in the MOST provocative and productive way possible.
I loved it when she was last on Bill Maher.

(135,425 posts)order. She was a cast member/writer at SNL for one season twenty years ago. She was fired--maybe she'll mention that.

(21,020 posts)I've seen her plenty of times and I've tried to like her, I really have, but I find her terribly annoying.
Maybe she reminds me too much of the smugly sarcastic little twits I knew back in grades 7 through 12.

(4,851 posts)What else could you want in an entertainer. She is one of my favorites.

(3,286 posts)...and after a trip to Youtube, I found her to be funny, wickedly intelligent and very edgy. Like a modern-day Lenny Bruce.

(135,425 posts)She will cut right to the heart of an issue, be it racism, sexism, whatever. She has a definite and individual voice--she's not at all derivative.
She's a comedian, but she's not always "ha-ha" funny. Sometimes, her stuff is excruciatingly painful, like a slap to the face.
She's extremely intelligent. She's never boring.
Some people can't deal with her commentary; she doesn't sugar-coat anything. Her topics are not appropriate for young children, pretty much ever.
You have to be in a mood to hear what she has to say, because, as I've said, her stuff is tough.

(43,182 posts)Maybe I'm just not big on comics who go out of their way to be edgy, and that's how I see her.
OriginalGeek
(12,132 posts)I think she is just plain honest and honesty is where the edge is.
I think the things she says are important.

(12,132 posts)I just said I don't think she goes out of her way. She lives there. And it's brilliant. To me, of course.

(1 post)She's really bad. I only recently realized she had dated Kimmel and thought my God, what a pair, him, the two-faced sarcastic yet at same time teacher kiss-ass from everyone's grade 7 class and her, the girl who sat in front of him who tried desperately to get some of the attention for herself but just couldn't pull it off and that's what she still is, nothing more than a ditz from grade school, STILL telling the same lame jokes and trying oh so hard to be funny but just isn't. And anyone who likes her? Well, they're just the same knobs that thought people like her were funny back in grade 7 also, the uncreative masses that mistake audaciousness for talent.
