The DU Lounge

It appears to be equally valid as saying Kick and DURec, correct? And it's shorter!

(77,795 posts)Yes, this is Lounge, but I'm not keeding. It was in perhaps the 2nd incarnation of DU. In, what are we now DU3?, since the Recs became listed with names, I tweaked the K&R to "R#(whatever) & K". It was new members who accepted it because it seemed de facto by the time they arrived who started using it a bit more. Really, the purpose of posting the K and the R was that giving an Rec without the post/K does not kick the thread up, just lets it sink if no post is made, so posting K&R contributes to kicking it up.
Although "Tweety" (credit defunct site "Media Whores Online"
and "Shrub" (credit Molly IVINS) are not mine, I use them relentlessly, never referring to those dudes by their names. Tweety is used quite a bit, Shrub hardly much. I say Jeb Crow Shrub (because of the Rethug 2000 voting coup and the Rethug reliance on voter suppression and theft), referring to Jim CROW laws of repression. I've been scolded a few times by fellow members for my DU-isms, telling me, "If you want to be taken seriously..." that I would stick to standard language. I say, on an internet website?!1 I am too humble to aspire to be taken seriously. Besides, there's my history of erratic postings. The longer you are here, the erratic part will be clear.
