"Once you (verb) the (adjective), (title/prefix) (adjective) is _____."

I'll try to come up with a few, but for now:

-Once you turn the knob, Dr. Bidet is a mean @ss f-cker.

The Brontosaurus Principle: Up to a point, the bigger the better. After that point, the bigger the worse.

The Syrakosia Rule: Anything designed to do everything will not do one thing well. Named after the Syrakosia, an ancient ship designed to be a royal yacht, a grain freighter and a battleship. It was too slow and clumsy to be a battleship, to expensive to operate to be a grain freighter and too crowded and uncomfortable to be a royal yacht.

One "aw shit" cancels a hundred "attaboys".

The number of alligators is in direct ratio to the difficulty of draining the swamp.

That four wheel drive and fancy equipment will just get you lost farther out, usually shortly before the nor'esterly arrives.

Kick in to the DU tip jar?

This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.

As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.

Tell me more...
