In the mid 1970s I toured with a soul singer named Nancy Hyde, playing guitar. She did a wonderful cover of that song. The song can still bring a tear to my eye..

at my former job is her cousin. He is also a class act. He acted like it was no big deal. I guess if it's your family member, it probably isn't. He said she always shows up at family reunions etc. Love both of them.

My in-laws saw her in Vegas recently, said she was wonderful.

I could sit in this thread and watch these videos over and over.

Gladys played near me in May of 2012. It was a wonderful show, she was remarkable. Her brother and pip Bubba even joined her for a bit.

We saw her live a couple of summers ago at the Greek. Still amazing voice. But the above clip from a really old HBO special still sends chills up my spine!
