May I introduce you to Rocky.
AKA Rocket J. Squirrel, AKA Rocky Balboa, AKA Rocket Man, AKA Hound Puppy, AKA Puppy Boy, AKA Buddy Boy, AKA Youdamnedmuttstopjumpingonme.
Rocky is a 6 month old Chocolate Lab that somehow was born with the energy of six dogs, the strength of ten dogs, and the heart of a lamb. Plus, he makes an excellent doorbell.
Lucy Lu hates him.
Even so, he's a good boy.

She crossed the Bridge this last summer. We had her for 12 years.

She was sitting on my desk, getting into some turkey snacks I'd just given her, when Rocky came up to torment her. She slapped his face a few times but that was ineffective as she's been declawed (NOT my choice- I would not have done that to her). So she got pissed and chomped down on his nose. He quickly got the idea and backed off.
That's my kitteh!
But poor Rocky. He has to learn that Lucy is in charge.
