Ad pro:

Manning hums the Nationwide jingle? Fire the creative team.

State Farm "Discount Double Check." Uninspired, unfunny, and extremely weak use of a celebrity. Terrible campaign.

Flo and the Gecko: what were once tools in a concept have become spokespersons. The characters themselves are not concepts. Wrong, wrong, wrong.

2. I like the Gecko, the Pig, the Dromedary camels...

The Farmer's Insurance ads are a bit annoying (as above) but it is the State Farm ads (especially the one with the Kim Kardashian wannabes wanting to buy some ugly oversized designer handbags with the "savings&quot but also the one with the Mom/Grandma at the mounted wall phone that drive me batty.

For some reason, the insurance company that pushes its "accident forgiveness" also really annoys me. They use a young attractive African American women who bemoans that "we are all human", but it just comes across badly-- to me, at least.

Flo is tiresome but at least they change them up frequently.

Geico's are clearly the best.

GEICO is owned by Berkshire Hathaway (read: Warren Buffett)

Berkshire's insurance interests are run by a very smart man named Ajit Jain.

Insurance premiums that accrue prior to the payment of claims are called "float." Insurance companies make money by investing the float.

Warren Buffett (i.e. Berkshire) uses that float to buy stock in companies. The money has to be paid back to pay claims, but from Buffett's perspective, it's an interest free loan to Berkshire Hathaway.

So they'll spend whatever it takes to get more customers to pay more premium. And the more customers they can attract to spread risk, the lower the premiums become.

Peyton Manning is on my try to never watch and most assuredly never hear lists
The Humpday camels are a little annoying.
I'd rather watch static than any of the Rob Lowe commercials.
The State Farm ads, IIRC, aren't stupid, annoying and insulting all at once.
On my list of things to do if stuck in a hotel during a storm is make a few cartoon cells of the mayhem guy falling into an open manhole.
The most interesting man in the world occasionally makes me chuckle; bigfoot has a picture of him, indeed.

19. I was just complaining about the Rob Lowe ads

They go to an awful lot of trouble with makeup and give him THE lamest lines. Just a terrible execution.
I actually like Stephanie Courteney (Flo), and the GEICO Gekko I find charming. I even like Peyon Manning's ad. When he bites into his chicken parm...I can almost taste it. The rest of these are awful to me.
But I do like The Most Interesting Man in the World!

35. Mute the Sonic guys and State Farm ads

There are about five State Farm commercials (Jake 3am, car hit by buffaloes, etc.) which they've been running for 5 or 6 years now. They're muted immediately. You'd think State Farm could afford some new ads.

The Sonic guys get automatically muted. Peyton gets muted too.

We like Mr. Mayhem. We miss the ad with the little boy as an adult driver... "You're killin' me."
