The trees in it, firs and cedars, are 800 years old. Plus it is a coastal rainforest. Saw it when I was 16. Gorgeous.

Been diving from Seattle to Catilina to Cozumel to Hawaii and I will put the Kelp forests in Monterey up against anything I've ever experienced. Spending several months backpacking through the Sierra's each summer from Lassen to Yosemite to Kings Canyon didn't exactly suck either.
Ah but I was so much younger then.
