(37,540 posts)They may have been feeding on a school of fish and weren't paying attention to their surroundings. Also, I think the tide might have been coming in and that may have pushed them into the beach faster than they could react by turning away. Most looked pretty small, so they may have been young dolphins and weren't paying attention or heeding the message from the adults.
Did you hear their distress calls? Way up there on the pitch scale.
I really liked the way the people reacted...at first, no one really knowing what to do...but one person jumps in and starts dragging a dolphin out and they start pitching in. beautiful video.
