(7,906 posts)but furthermore, it's a
Four letter word just to get me along
It's a difficulty and I'm biting on my tongue and I
I keep stalling, keeping me together
People around gotta find something to say now
Holding back, everyday the same
Don't wanna be a loner
Listen to me, oh no
I never say anything at all
But with nothing to consider they forget my name (ame, ame, ame)
[Chorus:]
They call me 'hell'
They call me 'Stacey'
They call me 'her'
They call me 'Jane'
That's not my name
That's not my name
That's not my name
That's not my name
They call me 'quiet'
But I'm a riot
Mary-Jo-Lisa
Always the same
That's not my name
That's not my name
That's not my name
That's not my name
Now who is that by?

KMOD
(7,906 posts)So although Barry Manilow deserves some credit, for spreading the gospel of Music, it was music that made your baby fall in love with you.
So don't go shaking Barry's hand yet. Just sayin'!

I love that song. I love Barry Manilow's music. When I was a single parent and couldn't afford squat, much less go to concernts, he came to
an open air venue (Meriweater Post Pavillion in Columbia Md) just a few blocks from my house. I remember driving around the surrounding streets hoping to hear something, LOL...many musicians were so loud my windows would vibrate during some concerts...but no luck!

for questions #2
you need to, Look down the bar I say to my bartender
I said "Look man, come down here",
Then at the very least, you'll get a bourbon, scotch or beer.
cwydro
(51,308 posts)Is that from the song I love - One bourbon, one scotch and one beer? I forget the name, but I used to LOVE that song!
Why can I not remember the artist's name?
Hmmm. Probably the red wine I'm drinking lol.

(7,906 posts)Why does the sea rush to shore?
I went down to the shouting sea,
Taking Christopher down with me,
For Nurse had given us sixpence each-
And down we went to the beach.
We had sand in the eyes and the ears and the nose,
And sand in the hair, and sand-between-the-toes.
Whenever a good nor'wester blows,
Christopher is certain of Sand-between-the-toes.
The sea was galloping grey and white;
Christopher clutched his sixpence tight;
We clambered over the humping sand-
And Christopher held my hand.
We had sand in the eyes and the ears and the nose,
And sand in the hair, and sand-between-the-toes.
Whenever a good nor'wester blows,
Christopher is certain of Sand-between-the-toes.
There was a roaring in the sky;
The sea-gulls cried as they blew by;
We tried to talk, but had to shout-
Nobody else was out.
When we got home, we had sand in the hair,
In the eyes and the ears and everywhere;
Whenever a good nor'wester blows,
Christopher is found with Sand-between-the-toes.

What irked the hell out of me is that all my Irish friends LOVED these places!
Well, one told me that the Irish BK sucked. She wanted to eat at an AMERICAN BK.
So first thing when she came to visit - that's where we went. She had some giant whopper bacon thing. Erg.
She was sick for a day and a half!
I laughed, but I felt so bad for the
poor thing.

Chapter One we didn't really get along
Chapter Two I think I fell in love with you
You said you'd stand by me in the middle of Chapter Three
But you were up to your old tricks in Chapters Four, Five and Six
But Gordon Lightfoot read the book of love, and was not impressed at all
Just like a paperback novel,
The kind the drugstores sell.
Then you reached the part where the heartaches come,
The hero would be me.
But heroes often fail,
And you won't read that book again
Because the ending's just too hard to take!
