This way, we can conserve bandwidth and make sure our messages get seen.
Thanks for the ones I've gotten already -- and hopefully this will be first "Thank you" of more!

(29,078 posts)DUers getting hearts today made me envious, I had flashbacks of high school when the school clubs sold balloons and roses and delivered them during classes on Valentine's Day. Of course I, Charlie Brown, never got anything (I think the exchange student from Finland was the only one who didn't get anything either). Thank you so much! I am pathetically happy and grateful.

(12,799 posts)It was unsettling enough that I would avoid posting during the February fund drive for the first many years. Even so, I've never had a year go by without some kind DUer sending me a heart.
We are in a friendly place.

(11,833 posts)Didn't see you around the last few days here. Hope you're doing well. Everything a ok in Hawaii?
You missed some crazy fun threads. Sports Illustrated swimsuit cover. An article about racism experienced by a guy who posts at DailyKos. If you read those two thread alone you will laugh your ass off. Of course there were a couple of 'answer threads' to those too, which are hilarious as well.
Mahalo.

(319,076 posts)I actually have been not feeling my best so I took a break.. and that was good.
And, then I read about Brian Williams and I got back on to see what was up about it here.. and then I got sucked in again!
Hope you're doing well.. you and your fam.. thanks for the thread reports.. I'm hanging in there. This too will pass.

(11,833 posts)You don't want to bring anyone else down so when you're not feeling so great you don't post. I don't like to talk much about it when I feel down. I just don't post or come here to cheer up a bit. Hope you're enjoying being back here reading a bit. Please know that you are much loved Cha. All the best to you and your family too. Aloha.

To anyone feeling like they didn't get enough hearts - I love you.

(7,906 posts)I'm a little concerned as well though, because four of mine came at the exact same time.
I thinking it must have been a glitch, and I feel bad about that.
One came later, so I think that was legit.
I'm just feeling like I should have two, not five.
FWIW though, I am trying to spread the love.

(11,175 posts)Usually I'm good at grammar, and I feel confident with who/whom issues, but I'm sometimes in doubt about whoever/whomever.
Some posts in this thread go with "whomever":
* "And thank you to whomever bought me a heart!"
* "I sure know I didn't deserve it, but thank you to whomever you are."
* "Whomever you may be, you are my new favorite person!"
I'd be inclined to use "whoever" in each of these instances (because the pronoun is the subject of a verb).
I extend my thanks to whoever gave me a heart and to whoever can weigh in intelligently on the grammar question.

On the bright side, my wife, Jeanette, and I are going to be looking for a return home date of sometime early April, just after my 46th birthday (which really, REALLY sucks) but hopefully with a salvaged right leg which I can keep for the long haul!
