You know the weather is bad and probably going to get worse

when a veteran weatherman well "seasoned" in Western N.Y. winters lays his head down on the desk, hides his face for a minute, then says to the news anchor, "don't make me tell you about next week, please."

I can't even imagine what those of you who live in New England and other harder hit areas are going through.

This is bad enough. I even pulled a leg muscle between trying to walk the dog through all this snow, shoveling, and winterizing the barn more. Hurts like heck and laying down makes it worse.

Thank goodness for heating pads and Advil.

On a good news front, feral barn kitties are okay so far, knock on wood. Had to stop giving them canned food because it just freezes, but they are well stocked with dry, and I bring them out hot water twice a day so they can all get a drink before that freezes too.

Stay safe and warm everyone.

We haven't seen winter yet out here. It's been in the high 80s this month. No rain in sight. This drought scares me a bit...

Take care, stay safe and warm!

a drought. This has been the worst winter we've had in years. Think most of us have forgotten how to cope especially because it's so unrelenting.

There was no snow today so no shoveling, I got to rest my leg some. I also treated myself to watching Colin O'donaghue's guest starring appearance on Amazon Prime today.

It's a story of ice versus plow in Halifax today.

"Those snowbanks ... they're concrete. So an average plow truck simply isn't moving that," said Darrin Natolino, head of Halifax's winter operations.

that would give the weather report for Hannibal's Crossing. Of course the weather report was always outrageous (because there was no such place and it was nothing more then a running gag).

One winter, my uncle from Oklahoma (an attorney with the State AG's office) and an attorney from Texas came to Maine to watch some case that somehow was related to Oklahoma and Texas. My parents invited them both to dinner and brought them out to the house first. While there were there, the TV was on the local news. When they saw the weather report, one of them was like "Oh my God! Did you see that weather report for that town?" It was something like -30 degrees. We just laughed and let them know that it was just a running joke. They both just got sucked in and thought that it was the truth.
