(27,247 posts)I just wish that they wouldn't keep deleting stuff that I like, like TV shows from the '60s.

(10,893 posts)even with cable. Much of the time I'm on there, I find myself watching the same videos repeatedly for quick laughs. I watch video game LPs, but I have a guilty pleasure for videos of people fighting and arguing (whether on XBOX Live or in person).
As far as politics goes on there, I only watch Thom Hartmann. I used to watch TheAdviseShow, and I agree with the host most of the time (especially on issues related to the Black community), but I had to take a break from it because I didn't care for some of his views on things like feminism and what he calls "political correctness".
There are two things I have found frustrating about YT, though. One is that it's hard for me to get any views on my videos that I upload on my channel. On rare occasions, I have 1-episode LPs of certain video games, and they hardly get any views. Meanwhile other video game LPers like Lueroi and KoopaKungFu can get views and subscribers with ease. Then again, they upload videos more consistently than I do, and probably put way more time into it than I care to through social networking sites.
The other thing I dislike about YouTube is the lack of moderating for their comments areas. People are allowed to say the most vile things on there. Even when you try to "report" their comments, not much seems to happen. Whenever I dive into the comments section of a video, it frequently turns into a black-and-white thing (even when the video has nothing to do with race), along with people calling each other homophobic and misogynist slurs. The YouTube comments section feels like both hanging out on an elementary school playground and time travel to the 19th century. That's why I hardly read YT comments these days.

(2,964 posts)I spend more time watching YouTube on my Roku than watching Netflix. Now I wonder why I need Netflix. Everytime I see a YouTube video in DU or somewhere I click "watch later" and it keeps me entertained all weekend.
I especially like British Panel shows like "QI XL", "8 out of 10 Cats" and "Would I Lie to You". I know they will eventually get deleted but they are there long enough to see them.

Personally, I love the site. Wish I'd thought of it.

(12,132 posts)95% of it is to listen to music I may be interested in buying or to send to a friend if I think they need to hear soemthing. The other 5% is divided between leather-work tutorials and tips/hints to get through tricky levels on various games.
And the occasional "people falling hilariously" compilation.
I don't watch TV or movies on my computer or phone. I didn't pay a thousand bucks for a big HDTV to watch movies on a little screen.
