A baby squirrel falls out of a tree into the backyard of a home with a newly-born family of kittens. The squirrel is quickly welcomed in as one of the family and even learns to purr!

That squirrel learned to purr ... Why can't I?!

If the squirrel isn't removed from the cat, the cat will eventually kill it. Right now, the mother cat is flooded with hormones that make her maternal and thus likely to adopt a baby squirrel. But that hormone flood will come to an end, and then she will see the squirrel as prey. It's not as if she can't tell it's a squirrel.

If what you said is the case then dogs would always eat cats and cats would always eat birds. But, that's not the case. Sometimes you have different species living together like a family.

Hope someone adopts the squirrel and gives it a loving home. And all the kitties get loving homes, too, smile.

Five baby squirrels showed up on our patio.
There had been a high wind storm and we guessed that their nest had blown down.

They were friendly and crawled up on my feet.
Cute as they could be.
I picked them up.
Had some photos taken with them in my lap and on my shoulder.
Fed them.

And then I looked closer.
They were RIFE with fleas.
yuck
