(2,682 posts)As a former University of Washington Paralegal Studies instructor, I'm wondering what made you think there would be no exams? Or are you saying you felt as though the exam was the same as the state bar exam?
The program in which I was involved was a 3-nights a week course over a period of 9 months. Two nights on theory and one night on practice (me). Even though it was a pass/fail course, there were exams and a final project. How else would the instructors know if a person passed or failed?
I also worked for the Chief Bar Examiner of the state. Bar exams are long, arduous and difficult.
Anyway, good luck with your classes. I was a paralegal for over 30 years before I retired in 2009. Loved the job. Hope you enjoy yours as much.

(17,621 posts)I've been taking them all along. But this one made me feel as though I had been a few rounds with the state bar exam. I think I was guilty of thinking this particular class (legal ethics) would be an easy one.
Anyway, thanks for the good wishes!
