Is this really how a duck carry the ducklings? What darlings.
Also, have you seen that ad for Android where a cat is standing in front of an easel working on covering it with a green paint? Wish I could capture it but it is usually an ad before I start my sudoku..

(4,291 posts)Let me state up front that I enjoy this weekly feature. It's a (somewhat) guilty pleasure to peruse these photos and captions over my first cup of coffee on any Sunday morning. Well done, SCE!
But, am I the only one who bristles at the sight of pets dressed up in costumes, such as the Darth Vader one on the cat this week? To the extent that animals can feel humiliated I wonder if they don't feel degradation when their owners -- note I don't use the term "parent" because they are indeed pets, not children or dolls -- put them into costumes for their (selfish) amusement.
Please know that I am not a member or supporter of PETA. But I have to wonder if this doesn't come perilously close to mistreatment especially when these costumes are hot, restrictive and otherwise unnecessary for the animals' physical and psychological well-being.
Discuss.
