this is very unusual. we rarely get thunder and lightening and the lightening strikes are huge -- it's lighting up the sky.

We get some spectacular lightning here. The Huachucas translate to "mountain of thunder" in Apache.

I LOVE thunderstorms so much. We're so deprived here in CA.
All my life I've heard people call out-of-season thunderstorms "earthquake weather". I'm sure there's nothing remotely scientific to that.
