(7,473 posts)Winter kill, weeds, crab grass, patches with nothing growing and an infestation of grubs. My tale of woe for this spring. Just had someone come today to take a look at my disaster. Hope I can afford what he will charge to help get this old place in order. I can't work as hard on the yard any more so things have caught up with me. You must put hours and hours into the yard to make this so beautiful.

(10,998 posts)My neighbor across the lane from my childhood home had bleeding hearts, one of my faves and tulips.
My yard is filled with native desert flowers. It's called Xeriscape.

Here are a couple varieties in my yard. Many desert plants get prickly when they dry, neither of theses will though.

(11,767 posts)As to posting photos here- I had to get a photobucket acct. upload my photos there, then do a copy/paste to DU.
Photobucket makes it super simple.

(205,202 posts)I should take a look to see if it's still around. I remember seeing some when I was very young and they made such an impression that they've been favorites of mine ever since. Yours are especially lovely!
