Or maybe he simply thinks Hot Fuzz and Run, Fatboy, Run fit the definition of "challenging, emotional journeys".

The Cornetto Trilogy was a lot fun, but it wasn't exactly intellectually challenging.

Although as much as I love pretty much everything Simon Pegg is in, I'll have to disagree with him here. Most of the people I know who are Marvel and DC fans are more intelligent and informed than people who don't watch these movies.
