It is pretty much routine nowadays, but I know it sure does not feel like it when it is YOU or someone you care about.

She is fine and dandy however. You'll be ok. Try not to worry (easy for me to say.)

Please keep us all posted, ok?

Everything was in German until the head professor came and told me in English after I was past the danger, "just in time."

Just keep in mind, better like this BEFOREHAND than after a serious infarction, when they wheel you into the emergency room, and maybe afterward to the morgue. It's REALLY better the "before" way.

I could still keel over dead from a cardiac incident any second, but I've had 11 pretty cool years in the meantime, and I wouldn't have if I had put off treatment.

So go have them do what they gotta do, and come back for another round on the flip side.

it is fairly routine these days. Except, nobody wants 'routine' surgery!

Let us know how it goes. We'll be sending you good vibes and best
wishes for a totally uneventful procedure and home feeling fine before
you know it. At least you won't need the cone of shame, though!

That happened to my dad a few weeks ago. They put in a stent and he was out the next day. He's always so nice to the people at the hospital. I think it's really smart. They treat him very well. Good luck to you. I'll be thinking about ya! Let us know how it goes.

49. Catheritization, or open heart?
Tue Jun 2, 2015, 10:12 PM

big difference twixt the two.

I had a heart attack, catheteritization, stent implanted, and was fine in a few days. Open heart is a much bigger proposition.

Angioplasty?

blockages are treated in different ways.

Ask your doctor, and your cardiologist.

these are basically the only two options. One is minor surgery, one is major surgery.

Start reading, there are many excellent online medical sites that have great information about it.

the Mayo Clinic, WebMD, the Cleveland Clinic, American Heart Association, NIH. All have great websites.

You are lucky to find out you have a problem with discovering by heart attack.
