First, I want to thank everyone that responded and recommended the thread that my sister posted earlier today. I'm not facing any imminent problems and hopefully I'll have some news reasonably soon on the diagnostic procedure I'm having tomorrow. Your support and warm wishes are sincerely appreciated.
Now for the reason you are looking at this thread. This past Saturday I went outside for a bike ride and I found this cute little pooper at the bottom of the stairs. When I arrived back from the store there was a thunderstorm in the area. I did not see any other kittens around so somebody may have dropped the kitten off or the kitten became separated from its mama and litter.
The kitten looks to be about a month old and has weaned, she is using a litter box some of the time but doesn't have total control of her BM yet. I've given her a couple of quick spray downs to alleviate the flea problem, but she is too young for an actual flea bath. As you can see, she is already becoming a lap kitty (yes, my legs are that pale and I desperately need a tan). She has pure Siamese markings and blue eyes. She is entering the playful stage and is adjusting to her new home and has already learned that she can hog the entire bed as she cuddles up to me at night.
I haven't come up with a name yet. I prefer to give her with a name that has a strong "e" sound since I can raise my voice up to call her and get her attention. My brother will also have to agree to the name. Anyhow, check out the photos and the cattitude that goes with them.

She really is just gorgeous! And she was so incredibly fortunate to have found you!
I also found a kitten under much the same circumstances. Last August I found a tiny kitten in a grocery store parking lot. They were doing construction there and I talked to some of the crew. They said he'd been there for a few days and they'd 'd tried to catch him, but he was determined. So I went back with help and he's currently getting into mischief right next to me. The vet said he was about seven weeks. He's growing up into a beautiful cat and I have no doubt your little one will be stunning!
Just what you need to keep your spirits up - along with the support from your friends on DU...

(204,779 posts)Just turned out that way, since they seem to find me. And I had no idea what this little one looked like in the dark behind the supermarket, could only see his eyes, poor scared little guy. My last cat was also black, an older cat I rescued from outside, as well. And, coincidentally, the best cat I will ever know - I adopted my uncle's two cats when he died - was black, with long hair, just a spot of white on her chest like Felix. Her name was Rhiannon...

(111,944 posts)You're the only person I will accept an "ass kicking" from as a term of endearment. or is that ? If you come down to Wharton you only need to find the guy riding a neon green trail bike with the pale legs full of scars from kitteh scratches and bike accidents.
Just wait until I take photos of her messing with the paper towel roll and getting belly rubs!

(111,944 posts)My brother and I still haven't settled on a name, but she loves to play and spends so much time in my lap that it slows me down from getting any work done. When I go to bed she also insists on being next to me in the bed.
