and fly right up to them on the deck as if to say "excuse me lady, but why isn't the hummingbird feeder out and filled with syrup? "

They always on time, so the feeder goes up that weekend or we hear rude commentary.

winters have been mild, but during colder winters it's a challenge. One winter I looked out and my feeder was frozen and there was a bird near not moving much. I was prepared, I had another feeder in the house keeping warm. I switch them out just in time I think.

up there on the weekend and it was too late. It probably died of thirst or fright poor thing.
