WORST NEW PIZZA
Pizza Hut Hot Dog Bites Pizza
Estimated per slice: 460 calories, 30 g fat, 9.9 g saturated fat, 32.7 g carbohydrates
Thats the Fat Equivalent of: 7.5 Taco Bell Soft Fresco Steak Tacos!
Weve seen Pizza Hut do some kooky things in the past to try to woo new fansremember the Crazy Cheesy Crust Pizza, with 16 crust pockets of five totally different cheeses? Their latest monster mashup is Hot Dog Bites Pizzaa cheesy, pepperoni pizza surrounded by pigs in a blanket instead of the standard crust. Combining two fattening, calorie-dense, all-American foods is a lose-lose situation (though you wont lose weight)theres a whopping 3,680 calories in a typical, 8-slice pie, to be exact. Oh, and its served with Frenchs mustardfor dipping all those hot dogs, of course. Yum?

(18,837 posts)My "go to" burger...when I can't make it to an In 'n' Out or a similar place where they make memorable burgers...is the Western Bacon Cheeseburger at Carl's Jr. But as far as anything else on their menu, I recall that Mike Myers line on SNL where he was playing "The Scottish Guy" ("If it's not Scottish, it's CRAP!)...he was talking about Scottish food and said most people eat it on a dare. That's how I see the whole "thickburger" pheonomenon.

It just sort of evolved.
I came across a recipe for some outrageous chocolate dessert the other day that had a whopping 80 grams of fat... per slice

(18,837 posts)I'm pretty good when it comes to abstaining from high fat, high sodium, creamy, greasy, bad-for-you foods.
But chocolate? It's like the Sirens coaxing those ships onto the rocks. When it's chocolate time, I don't try to resist.
I find the best way for me to "responsibly" enjoy it is to get the best I can afford. I like those little round discs...forget the name, one of those brands like Lindt...but they are wrapped in heavy foil and then packaged in a cardboard tube. One flavor is half dark chocolate on one side, half milk on the other. Discs are about the size of a quarter. It's chocolate to be savored...I don't chew them like a Hershey bar, I let them melt in my mouth. A couple of them and the chocolate fix is good to go!

(22,896 posts)I made some brownies today-- half a recipe of ultra rich ones-- I think I've taken care of my yearning for chocolate... at least for the time being!

(18,837 posts)It was all of the cheapest crap like tacos and Jumbo Jacks that stoners would most likely order on a trip through thr drive through, thrown in one box.

(72,790 posts)Don't really have issue about the fat content--folks are free to choose which foods to eat for themselves--but I would rather spend my fat content and calories on something that tastes good! LOL
I've had Pizza Hut and I think it tastes gross.

(18,837 posts)...and one of the people used to always bring the cheapest chain pizza he could get. When I was in Colorado and broke, I've gotta tell ya...Little Caesar's is not what I would call "great" pizza, and maybe not even "good" pizza, but it was one of the best $5 meals I had at the time. Pizza Hut, on the other hand, is just nasty, nasty stuff. I tried some the first time it showed up at the pot luck. I passed after that.

(72,790 posts)but, yes, it is cheap.
I live in CT, and we are lucky to have some very good pizza here. I never eat pizza from chain restaurants since good pizza is only a few minutes away.
