This tour is gonna be amazing. Sadly it will make Lukas Nelson a guy that will be HUGE and I will miss the intimacy of his shows....

One of them guys you know is gonna change music. Seen him a buncha times, with Willie and the Family and in various bands and sit in's as well as Promise and the reggae-ish band he used to be in who's name escapes me right now.

Last October my dream came true when he sat in with Leftover Salmon at the Indy on Sat of Hardly Strictly Bluegrass. Was sooo goooood and I got free VIP'd too!

He's like every other singer when they get to "that age" where they have to take things down an octave or two...He stayed pretty much on course until the "Waiting to follow" line, but it still sounds good...I'd go to hear him. He sounds about 1000% better than another singer I listened to, back in the day, sounds in 2015:

He talks through or shouts most of the lyrics these days. The buzz word among people who remember the original albums is "he's turned int your crazy old uncle who thinks he can sing."

I didn't really care if Eddie gathered up the scraps and demos and wrote no "new" songs. It sounded like classic Van Halen. And he kept the keyboards to one song. A lot of people blame Sammy for Van Hagar being soft. My response to that is "Listen to Chickenfoot." Van Halen has never been a democracy. Eddie's desire to explore keyboard / synth-driven pop came into full flower on "1984," and Van Hagar was just a extension of that. I liked "Cabo Wabo" and "Best Of Both Worlds" and "Poundcake," but "Love Walks In?" Not so much.

And I don't know...the first thing that came to mind was the "Tonight's The Night" album and songs like "Mellow My Mind"...maybe it was intentional.
