I have a few Hello Kitty coloring books. I also use good colored pencils.

I have seen the adult ones but have not tried them.

Never stopped coloring. It's fun and relaxing.

I'll check out the coloring books.

I like the watercolor pencils, just in case I feel fancy and want to dip my brush in water and give it a watercolor look.

I just know that one of these days they'll send it back without that big REJECTED stamp.

It's always provided a moment of quiet peace. Nowadays, when it's sometimes hard to grip a crayon or pencil for any length of time, I can lose myself in other "coloring" ways, such as:

Ahhh the joys of hindsight

By Joanna Basford? Or Millie Marotta's wonderful series of coloring books?

I'm not using them to color but to get ideas for embroidery. A blogger I follow, Mary Corbet, did the most wonderful embroidery of a hummingbird pattern from Secret Garden: http://www.needlenthread.com/2014/01/secret-garden-hummingbirds-project-index.html

I've got several of the pictures selected to use for my own projects. I need to do as much embroidery as I can while my hand hold out. But my hand surgeon said it was good therapy after my carpal tunnel surgeries so I do as much as I can every day.

Partially color-blind, too, so not a good idea. But (according to my first-grade teacher, who gave me the fail) I was "reading with my age group." (I was reading newspapers and my sister's high-school science book, fer f*ck's sake!) It's been a standing joke in my family for years--the kid who couldn't color but who could solve quadratic equations and did crossword puzzles with a pen before he got to junior high.............
