My dear friend is having the cardiac catheterization today and the CT tomorrow, and will then be scheduled for open heart surgery.

Replacement of aortic valve
Replacement of some aorta tissue
Removal of a benign tumor on the heart (papillary fibroelastoma)

He's strong physically and mentally, but this is a challenge for anyone. He is the caregiver for his elderly mother, so that's another dimension of need.
