Monday, September 7th. William Shakespeare's Thought For Labor Day.

"We are but warriors for the working day."

Henry V, Act IV, Scene 3, Line 109.

This is probably the third time I have repeated this line in celebration of Labor Day. There are many similar, appropriate lines from Shakespeare, but nothing tops this one. Happy Labor Day, all you pro-labor liberals!

These are great, and of course Will's quote is perfect!

I recognize most of them......but not the lady at the top. Who is she?

Cesar Chavez is next, and then another person whose name I can't remember, and last is Woodie Guthrie.

What a great lineup! Thank you again.

Probably the most famous female labor leader.

The angry-looking guy with the eyebrows is John L. Lewis, a coal miner and labor leader from the early 20th Century.

Haven't had the energy or time to do much other than collapse when I finally get home. I skim DU for mental refreshment but haven't had time to comment much. I am always glad to see your posts from WS. Please send my regards to him, and my congratulations on the coat of arms.
