(6,161 posts)Unfortunately, it is a dead fetus. Elephant babies weight several hundred pounds. Still adorable at several hundred pounds though.
I Love the LOLCats and look forward to it every week. I don't want to bring anyone down but something about it didn't look right and I looked it up. Sorry to be "that" guy but I felt you all should know.

(23,763 posts)because two were born in our zoo within a month and their photos were everywhere so I knew this was NOT a newborn.
I totally agree that even at several hundred pounds they are quite simply adorable, especially when two raised together are side by side. They are now 2 and are still cute as can be, just larger and quite fun to watch.
Sad for the poor elephant mom though.

(6,161 posts)I really appreciate your work. It is a true service to the community. We all need a pick-me-up sometimes and it is pretty clear that you provide that in loads for the members of this board.

(43,528 posts)So sweet. Also the owls. And the kitty who was musing over his good day on the way to work!
Speaking of kitties with a heart, I have one. The heart doesn't show in this one, but I wanted everyone to see what a great Sunday she is having.
I just took this photo a short time ago. We're having a beautiful day in NJ.

Thanks, SCE!
