My feminist mentor had moved up there from NOLA (don't ask!). Shortly thereafter, I returned to Connecticut to bunk out with Mom. Every few weeks I would take the looooooooooong train ride down to 125th St., then up to "Puke-ipsie".

Favorite "Puke-ipsie" moment: Wandering down their Main Mall with Feminist Mentor, looking around, and telling her, "You know, they could really make something out of this if they'd put a little money into it."

She looked up at me (being about 4'10" to my 6'3" ) and replied, "They just did."
