I've been playing for a year now and was about to ask the same question
I realize you asked it over 3 years ago!
I love the game. I've been playing since version 0.25. I just learned to dock in the last month. I got tired of running out of fuel for the return home and now have giant nuclear-propelled ships in orbit with enough delta-v to get anywhere and back. I am in the process of setting up a mining/refining operation on and around Minmus to refuel them.
KSP is the best! I can't wait for version 1.1 to come out. It uses the new Unity game engine.
