well this worked out well

Last edited Thu Nov 26, 2015, 10:41 PM - Edit history (1)

I am catsitting for a woman who is out of state with her family for Thanksgiving - she had texted me something about leaving me turkey in the fridge.....I thought it would be some slices or a leg but when I looked in her fridge today I saw it was a WHOLE UNCOOKED TURKEY. I reread her texts and saw I had missed the part where she said it was a turkey she got from work. Aw jeez, I don't cook and have to work anyways so I called a coworker in a panic asking WHAT DO I DO WITH THIS THING? He made a couple of calls and quickly found a single mother of five who would GLADLY take it off my hands so I took it to him at work and off it went.

WOOOO!!!

Thanksgiving dinner with turkey, turkey pot pie, turkey sandwiches, turkey salad, etc for days (freeze what won't be eaten the next day). You and your friends saved her loads of money on meals.

I'm hoping something good comes your way.

Hey! You made me feel like Christmas is almost here. Can it be true?

Happy Thanksgiving for you -- and a premature Merry Christmas for you. Great job. I bet the person you gave the turkey will really enjoy it.

I visualized it happening this way ...

Cat lady left in a hurry to beat traffic (either to the airport or just the highway) and forgot all about that turkey in the fridge. Now she's of of town and slaps her head and and yells ... OH NOOOOO!! She thinks about the stink of rotting turkey in her fridge when she gets home and panics. Then she remembers her wonderful cat sitter and the light bulb shines brightly over head. She quickly texts Skittles to let her know that she left turkey in the fridge for her. Problem solved and a family of 6 had a humongous turkey to eat off for days. Life is good.

From one cat sitter to another. Happy thanksgiving. The kitties are much better company over the holidays anyway. I'm certain that family will enjoy the unexpected turkey dinner.
