My ignore feature is going into overtime. How is yours doing?

I've begun to notice a rather unpleasantness in DU recently, with a lot of clique-ish, clannish attitudes and quick to ridicule.

I don't normally engage that. I put on ignore and move on. How do you all deal with rude people on a message board?

It was a thing back on DU2. Someone would post somewhere "We got a live one", and then me and other like-minded dicks would go and fuck with 'em until they got smushed. DU3's just not as much fun. Now I just throw 'em on Ignore as soon as I see 'em and I figure, with the way MIRT has gotten so efficient at taking out the trash, they're probably gone before too long. The rest of my list are just the kind of people I don't like, so I turn 'em off and never look back.

My ignore list has remains consist at 21 since I began using it several months ago; as racists and MRA's add nothing of substance to any conversation any more than a half-witted grade-school child adds to a discussion of graduate level Mathematical Fluid Mechanics. Indeed, their tantrums tend to subtract from any valid discussion.

What's really in overload? The trash can has 10 different words/phrases to trash before I see the threads. And...I manually trash/hide several threads every single time I check in.

My trash can serves a useful purpose; it filters OPs so I see more of what I'm interested in on the front page of any forum. That, along with the manual hides, also help control the temptation to kick threads I don't want to see kicked.

I'll clear everything and start fresh after the Democratic convention next summer.

An individual unwilling or incapable of acknowledging or using reason or rationale, leading to a 2 day long one sided debate, which eventually forced me to conclude this persons opinions on any topic, are at the least, suspect.

In all my time using the internet chat rooms and message boards involving all manner of topics, going back to the very earliest days of Windows 98, and having encountered virtually every stripe of troll, idiot or dingbat, I'd never before bumped up against this persons type of obstinate, willful ignorance. My first ignore, anywhere, ever.
